To set up an account:

 

1. To go to Kanopy, click here, or click the icon at left.

2. Select Get Started.

3. Select Find Your Library.

4. Share your location when prompted or search for Luzerne County Libraries, your city, or zip code.

5. Select Luzerne County Libraries from the list or map, then click Select This Library.

6. Enter your library card number, then select Continue.

7. You will be asked to create your Kanopy account:

Enter your name, email address, and create a password with Kanopy, then select Sign Up.

Or, sign up with an existing Apple or Google account by selecting Sign Up with Apple or Sign Up with Google and following the instructions.

 

You have now set up your Kanopy account! Select Watch Now to get started.

You can also download the Kanopy app! Click here or on the icon at left to go to Kanopy’s app page, then click on the selection for your device. You will be redirected to an instruction page with links to download the app.

How Kanopy Works

 

Each month, you will you receive a set number of play credits. Your credits reset on the first day of each month at midnight. Unused credits don't roll over to the next month. When you log in to Kanopy, you'll see your remaining credits in the play credit counter in the top right corner of the homepage.

On the My Lists page, the Continue Watching tab displays videos that you've started watching but haven't finished. You can see the number of hours remaining until your credit expires in the top right corner of the video on your Continue Watching list.

Many films on Kanopy have a 48 or 72 hour viewing period, and you can watch the film as many times as you like during that period. You can see how a series uses play credits in the Kanopy mobile app. If "Playlist" appears at the top of the title details page, only one credit is required to access the entire series or season for one viewing period. If "Collection" appears at the top of the title details page, each episode will use a credit.
